I write daily … my goal … incremental 10 minutes. Like a gym workout, the first 10 minutes on a keyboard is a warm up. No spell check. No edits. No Revision just a dumping of words, phrases and ideas out of my head, through my fingers and onto a screen.
Thankfully and appreciatively, there have only been few mornings when I haven’t passed the 11 minute mark.
I punch and tap the keys anyway I can to unlock the running diaglouge between my ears. It’s a constant negotiation between the story, it’s characters and the narrative I’m weaving and I’ve been weaving for a years. Stacking story after story until the stacks started to become a thing, a millstone, a physical reminder of my unshared, unedited and uncommercialized creativity.
So … in March, I started unstacking, formatting and editing stack one. Here’s what emerged:
All total … seven screen plays plus a book from stack one! I have many thanks to give to my editors and first draft readers. Your thoughts, insights and changes made me a better creative.
All seven screen plays will be getting posted to my Substack, in some form, between now and the start of 2025.
I’ll let everyone know which one gets optioned and sold first!
